A Day to Forget and A Day to Remember

Although Halloween is not a Christian holiday, it is a fabulous witnessing opportunity!  When someone comes to your door, do what Jesus would do.  Hand out books or literature and be a Christian influence.  It may sound scary to act Christian, but it is much more of a danger to celebrate Satan's holiday...  The Halloween tradition cannot be made Christian by throwing God in here and there.

The ends do not justify the means!

Many people don't realize how dangerous Halloween is.  By participating in something dealing with Satan, even unintentionally, God can't always protect us from Satan's evil powers. You're probably wondering why nothing has happened to you yet?  The answer is simple, sin is only sin if you know it's wrong, you're refusing knowledge, or if God is placing something on your heart.  When God is trying to reach you and you refuse to listen or check it out, you are refusing knowledge.  Hosea 4:6 touches me every time I read it, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."  God wants us to except new light and look for more.

Is not Halloween just a social outing and letting the children get candy?  True, but it has a much deeper meaning and commitment.  Your are choosing Satan as master and letting your kids grow up thinking that it's fine.  Can you imagine all of the angels dressed up as demons and witches in front of Jesus' throne?
Whatever you do should be totally okay in front of Jesus Himself.  God does not overlook small sins, because such does not exist.  According to the Bible in James 2:10-12, all sins are equal to God, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.  For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.  So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty."
I have come to realize that there is a counterfeit for every truth.  Did you know that Halloween is a cover up of a much better Godly holiday?  Back in the Reformation and the Dark Ages, the Christians dutifully worked to make religious freedom possible.  They endured through hundreds of years of persecution, trials, and jail, but nothing could stop them.  At last they received their reward and we are still benefiting off of their spoil. Unfortunately, many of us have forgotten this and Satan is doing his best to blind us of this.  On October 31 is Reformation Day. It is still in existence, but has been forgotten by many due to a very popular counterfeit-Halloween.

Many of you may not agree and it is totally up to you.  However, if you feel impressed or a nagging and dreading feeling develops, seriously pray about not participating in any way with Halloween. God only impresses us to do his will, which is for our eternal best.  Read the following references: John 12:48, 50 and 12:26-27

Jesus says that we are to think about only pure, lovely and noble things. Philippians 4:8  Is participating in a holiday that is to glorify demons and witches lovely and pure even if we try to put an innocent, Christian tint to it and say it is fun for the children?
